Keep up to date with that we're doing!
On Thursday 5th November 2015, the whole of Key Stage Two went to the captivating surroundings of the Bristol Hippodrome to see an incredible live performance of Mary Poppins. The film classic has been a focal point of the children's performing arts learning, meaning that an opportunity to see it live could not be passed off.
After a long journey down the motorway, we arrived at Bristol Hippodrome with the children buzzing with excitement to see the "practically perfect" nanny! The eagerness to see the show was very much present, despite the rain, and the cast and crew did not fail to disappoint. A brilliant blend of dancing, singing, music and stage effects provided the Key Stage Two children with an excellent example of theatre at its best. From the complex choreography and singing of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", to the aerial abilities of Bert the chimney sweep, we were left amazed and thoroughly entertained. The children left the Hippodrome commenting on how "amazing" the singing and dancing of the cast was and how "unbelievable" the stunts in the show were. It was safe to say that we headed back to Tewkesbury with the children feeling inspired and wanting to take their learning of the performing arts to the next step.
